HOW YOU CAN HELP: Memberships & Sponsorships
Guide | Summaries | Comparisons | Scheduling | Installments | Upgrades | FAQs | Current Sponsors

Why might I be interested in becoming a sponsor?

Since its start in 1999, The Open Hearth Foundation has rapidly evolved into an important resource for Pagan events and networking in the Washington, DC region.

By becoming an OHF sponsor, you can assume a direct role in supporting the OHF and ensuring that these expanding resources continue while helping to create an open, dedicated, and permanent Pagan community center in the Washington, DC region - the central purpose and charity of The Open Hearth Foundation, Inc.

Can you recommend a sponsorship package?

Yes. Please take a moment to visit the Donor Guide which will allow you to quickly and easily identify the package that will work best for you considering the nature of your organization, your contribution budget, and your primary needs; as well as the Comparisons chart to see exactly what each package has to offer.

Can you recommend a good time to donate?

Yes. Please also take a moment to visit the area titled Scheduling Your Gifts to plan your contribution budget for the year and identify the best times to make your donations or begin your donation installments.

What is an installment donation?

The OHF also offers many of its sponsor packages on an installment basis when these installments are made online as part of an automatically recurring donation. An ideal way to spread the cost of a package out over time and to lock in your package benefits from one year to the next, please see the Installment Schedule for the best times to start an installment.

How do I make an installment donation?

To make an installment donation, visit the OHF online donation form and enter the installment amount specified for your package in the field titled "other" under donation amounts. Then, check the radial button that says "I want to make a recurring donation every month." Finally, indicate your chosen package code (example: "S780") in the box titled "Additional Instructions."

Why do the installments have start deadlines?

At least six consecutive installments must be received before all sponsor benefits fully attach; and at least twelve consecutive installments must be received to maintain your sponsorship. Because many of the sponsor benefits are tied to specific events in the OHF calendar, this means installments must begin by a certain date if they are to be used in connection with an upcoming event.

I have missed the deadline for an installment package. Can I still do installments if I make up for the months I’ve missed?

Yes. However, please do not adjust your installment amounts. Instead, visit the Installment Schedule and click on the link titled "Late Installment Instructions" that appears with your chosen package for additional directions.

I am already an OHF sponsor. Can I upgrade my package?

Yes. Many of the sponsor packages offered by the OHF can be upgraded. To identify the deadlines and amounts required to obtain a higher package level please see the Upgrade Schedule.

Are donations refundable?

Generally they are not. The donations you provide are properly considered tax-deductible contributions (and not a fee-for-service transactions) and applied directly to the OHF operating fund. However, the OHF will work with you to assign your benefits to a different party in the instance circumstances prevent you from taking full advantage of benefits that already attach.

Are my donations tax-deductible?

Yes. All donations (both offline and online) are considered tax-deductible. Both The Open Hearth Foundation, Inc. and our online donation form service provider (Groundspring.org) are federally recognized 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.

Can I combine my individual membership benefits with my group's package benefits?

Generally you cannot. Except where otherwise indicated, all the packages (which include the individual membership program) operate separate from each other and the benefits of one cannot be combined with another. However, it can makes sense to obtain multiple sponsorships when they offer different rewards. For example, commercial enterprises may be interested in taking part in the Spark, Hearth, and the FrOTH Associate levels - each of which have their own unique benefits.

What kind of promotional exposure can I expect with my package?

Currently the OHF email announcement list has well over 1,100 subscribers, making it one of the largest Pagan email lists serving the Washington, DC region. The Open Hearth Resource Guide has a target circulation of 3000. The Spring Ball regularly receives over 140 guests, and the various events comprising DC Pagan Pride Week are typically visited over 400 times, 200 of which occur the last day of the week (the DC Pagan Pride Day). As of this writing, the OHF has over 40 individual members. The OHF’s award-winning website receives over 150 unique visitors on an average day.
