THE OHF BOARD OF GOVERNORS
Governor Thomas, Chair
Shea Thomas is the current Chair of the OHF and one of its initial incorporators. Receiving his Juris Doctorate in 1998 from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America, and his Bachelors in Mass Communications in 1990 from the University of South Florida, Thomas has been lucky enough to serve as a Pagan community activist in various capacities for most of the past decade.
Previously serving on the WABA-PLC and National Pagan Leadership Skills Conference planning teams, Thomas is also the creator of The Wiccan Rede Project, former Speaker for an area teaching coven, Founder and former General Coordinator of the Mystic District Planning Coalition, and creator of the Pagan online web comic, YGGY'S.
Governor Marts, Vice Chair
Sherry Marts is a Feminist Witch, ritualist, writer, healer, Reiki master, warrior woman, and sex radical with nearly twenty year's experience in feminist Witchcraft, healing and ritual. Working in not-for-profit management since 1988, Marts also teaches classes on a wide variety of topics including Witchcraft, energy healing, sacred sex, and feminist spirituality. A graduate of the Cella Training Program of the Women's Thealogical Institute, Marts has also received her B.Sc. in applied biology from the University of Hertfordshire (U.K.) and her Ph.D. in physiology from Duke University.
Governor McKay, Treasurer
Patricia McKay is the current Treasurer of the OHF and one of its initial incorporators. Serving as Trade Show and Events Coordinator for a medium-sized information technologies company in Northern Virginia; Board member for the local chapter of a nationally-known document management association; McKay continues to bring tremendous organizational, financial, and event-planning skills to the OHF. McKay has many years' experience in solitary and group practice, including service as Membership Chair (Lyst Wych) for The Commonwealth Pagan.
Governor Eldritch
The first voting Governor elected to the Board and highly involved in the local community, Eric Eldritch brings significant expertise to the OHF in meeting facilitation, public ritual and community organizing.
Eldritch has taken part in several area initiatives including The Red Dragon Feast, Connect DC, Sacred Space, Stones Rising and DC Pride Interfaith Services. Eldritch is a member of the Church of Four Quarters and a founding member of the DC Radical Faeries - a circle of solitaries who meet weekly to practice Earth Religion and explore Queer Spirituality.
Governor Anne Thomas
Anne Thomas is the current Secretary of the OHF. A graduate of the the University of Maryland
with a BA in American Studies with concentrations in
sociology and English, Governor Thomas does contracted editing
work for EEI Communications. Ms. Thomas is
communications coordinator for the Pagan Leadership
Conference this year and is a member of the DC Radical
Faeries and Becoming. She is also a member of the
American Chestnut Foundation.
Governor Crewson
Mark Crewson is a Wiccan, Reiki Master, community builder and teacher with over twenty years of experience in providing leadership across a diverse array of groups. During his secondary school years, he was a leader with the Northeast Oklahoma Boy Scout Indian Nations Council serving as the Model Eagle Scout Representative and as Lodge Chief for its Order of the Arrow lodge, the Tulsa Judo Club serving as Junior Team Captain and various school organizations. In college, he brought his previously honed leadership skills to bear in social and professional fraternities, political work and human rights organizations. He graduated, Cum Laude, and as a Distinguished Honors Scholar from the University of Cincinnati in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. He has worked for Accenture, a leading global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company, since 2000. Combining skills from professional consulting with the breadth of his volunteer leadership experience, he serves as a Governor on the Board of the Open Hearth Foundation and is one of the core planners for the Washington-Baltimore Pagan Leadership Conference. He is the President of the Sacred Space Foundation and was the Metro Co-Coordinator for the 2007 Washington-Baltimore Pagan Pride Week. He is currently studying to become an initiate of the Bluestar Tradition of Wicca and is an initiate within the Correllian Nativist Church International. In the DC area, he served as a founder of the Temple of the Sacred Arts and currently circles with the Sun Spirit Circle. He has taught at Free Spirit Gathering, Sacred Space Esoteric Conference and Healing the Spirit.
Cyra A. Choudhury - Corporate Counsel
Cyra A. Choudhury is a corporate lawyer who previously practiced with Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in New York in their Securities and Corporate Finance practices and with the New York Legal Aid Society in their Immigration Law Unit where she focused in appellate litigation and deportation defense. In D.C.her practice is focused on advising start-up and mid-stage nonprofits and small business. In addition to her private practice, she also teaches law and publishes in the area of religion and the law. She holds four degrees in political science and law and is the recipient of a number of academic honors. She is a member of the New York and Washington, DC bars.
Honorary Governor Mallory
Jeremy Mallory, currently living in Chicago, was one of the Coordinators
of the Mystic District Lecture Series while living in Washington. In
2004, he completed his doctorate in religious ethics in at the
University of Chicago Divinity School, and is currently in the Law
School there. Which means, alas, no time for baking lemon pound cake for
the OHF Spring Ball. While in Chicago, he is studying the potential for
expanding the OHF model into other metropolitan areas, and the different
legal and demographic problems that might arise in Chicago and in general.
