THE OPEN HEARTH RESOURCE GUIDE
Who Publishes The Guide?
The Open Hearth Resource Guide is published by The Open Hearth Foundation, Inc. (OHF) - a nonprofit 501(c)(3) Pagan community center initiative serving the greater Washington, DC region.
When And Where Is The Guide Released?
The Guide is first released every September at the Washington - Baltimore - Northern Virginai Pagan Pride Week and thereafter at stores, events, conferences, and other targeted locations within the OHF service area.
Who Can Submit A Listing?
Any Earthwise, Magickal, or Pagan group, store, service or business can submit a listing, including commercial as well as non-commercial organizations. Listings for resources based in DC, MD, and VA are offered for free. There is a $20 donation requirement to obtain a listing for a resource based outside these territories.
I'm Outside DC, MD, & VA - How Do I Submit A Listing?
Please visit our advertising page for additional information on how you can submit a resource based in these "out of territory" regions.
Why Didn't My Listing Appear Last Year?
Listings often fail to make the Guide when they are 1) completely unrelated to the Guide's target audience, 2) submitted after the August 30 deadline, or 3) based outside DC, MD, or VA and no additional $20 donation is received.
Why Didn't My Whole Listing Appear?
For space reasons the text-description portion of each listing is strictly limited to 300 characters. If you submit a listing longer than 300 characters, it will be edited to size.
Is The Guide Available Online?
The Guide is only available in print. Additional online resources can be found at The Witches' Voice.
What Does The Guide Look Like?
The Guide itself is a black-and-white booklet typically 18 to 20 pages in length, 7 inches wide by 8 ½ inches tall, with half-inch margins, saddle staples, and a distinctive yellow cover. Circulation for the Guide varies and is partially dependent on the amount of advertising received. Target circulation for 2006-2007 Guide is at least 3,000 copies.
Where Does The Content Originate?
Guide listings flow from voluntary submissions. Because of this, please note that the beliefs, opinions, and actions of listed resources are not necessarily those of the OHF. Listings are uncertified and appear without endorsement or warranty. No part of the Guide may be republished without the prior permission of the OHF. All rights are reserved to respective owners.
Can I Get A Guide In The Mail?
The Guide is mailed each year to all dues-paying members of the OHF. For more about how you can receive a copy of this year's guide in the comfort of your own home please see our Membership Page.
